Horgan HR & Payroll Group is owned and operated by Spenser Horgan.

Based in Wilmington, NC, Spenser began his career in HR in 2013 as a recruiter. Since then, he has functioned as a Talent Acquisition Coordinator, Recruitment and Training Manager, HR Generalist, Payroll Specialist, and HR & Payroll Consultant. Spenser brings a realistic and down-to-earth approach to HR, and enjoys breaking the mold of how people have come to view the field as a whole. One of his key interests is technology, and how it can be used to both simplify and optimize the HR process.

Spenser also has experience being a full-time technology specialist in the Employee Benefits division of a large insurance broker as the Employee Navigator system administrator. He believes high-quality and effective benefits administration technology should be a tool every company offering benefits to their employees has access to, no matter their size. He specializes in the implementation, renewal, and user training of Employee Navigator for companies of all sizes.

Outside of work, Spenser enjoys traveling the world, caring for his massive collection of houseplants, spending time with his dog Lulu, and volunteering in his local community of Wilmington.
